Kananaskis Wedding
I had the privilege of shooting Nicole and Justin's engagement session last Winter. They are a super non-traditional fun loving couple, ugh, I just adore them SO much! They had inquired about both wedding photography and wedding venue recommendations. I love brainstorming venue ideas with my couples. When I make a recommendation I ensure that the location is beautiful and the service is A+. So, I sent them some info on one of my fave Airbnb's out by Ghost Lake and they ended up booking it the next day along with booking us for their photos! This Airbnb was the perfect location for a Kananaskis wedding. It was beautiful, clean, comfy inside but still had a good space for their micro wedding. Outside had really pretty spots on the property to take tons of stunning photos in front of the mountains. Nicole and Justin looked so so good in their photos.
Rocky Mountain Wedding
Looking for a personalized timeline for your Rocky Mountain wedding, I gotchu. It's always so much fun to help our couples plan out their entire day! We did their portraits before the ceremony rather than after - friends, this is your day, you can do whatever you like! We ended up doing a first look on the property, headed to the mountains to do some portraits, and then ceremony at sundown. Like I said, it's your day to personalize, that goes for the wedding colors too! The gem in Nicole's ring is an emerald, so a lot of her colors were emerald green and burnt oranges just to bring out the Fall colors, which turned out so stunning! Each of her bridesmaids were in a different color dress, all Fall colors of course, with the groomsmen's in matching ties to the bridesmaids dresses. I loved this idea, she had lots of thoughtful details throughout the day that were really cool. A lot of their wedding decor Nicole DIY'd, which was so beautiful and personal! They also bought a gorgeous emerald green antique chair for their photos because Nicole loves the look of furniture out in nature and who could blame it, it looked amazing! It was such a fun, unique idea that really made their photos stand out. We brought the chair with us, threw it in the back of Justin's Subaru and ended up doing some photos with it down at the lake and on a gravel road. It was more like a high fashion kinda style! If you like high fashion unique wedding ideas, this is an idea to consider for sure!
Airbnb Wedding
We have so much flexibility with timing when you choose and Airbnb as your venue. Want a sunset ceremony, you got it! This ceremony was at 6:30 in the evening with the dreamy golden light behind them. So of course it was a must we did a few portraits after with that buttery, creamy, perfect, golden light! Afterwards we went into their reception which was purely appetizers. They just hung out with their friends and family, ate appies, and mingled which was exactly what they wanted. They wanted casual and not a lot of stress or a sit down thing, it was very much them. Choosing to have an Airbnb wedding really allowed them to have the relaxed atmosphere that they were looking for. I love when couples make their wedding very unique to them. Nicole and Justin's day definitely showcased who they are as a couple and I'm so happy to have been able to help them put this gorgeous day together!
