I am always a big fan of an anniversary photoshoot. We always talk about how the wedding day goes by so quickly, but the years go by quickly too! Before you know it, you might be five or ten years down the line wondering why the two of you just don't have any photos that properly document your love for one another. Today, we are featuring one of my favourite anniversary photos, at one of my favourite photo locations (Emerald Lake in British Columbia!). It also featured one of my favourite people - top Calgary Wedding Planner - Cailin at Cailin Billings Events!
Why this anniversary photoshoot was so special
Cailin and Kyle's anniversary photoshoot was incredibly special, not only because I love to work with Cailin, but also because she got married in Ontario and I knew she didn't love her wedding photos. I wanted to setup an adventure photoshoot that would give them romantic photos they LOVED, that also reflected their love for each other (like wedding photos should!). To make the photos even more sentimental, Kyle wore the same suit he wore on their wedding day. Cailin took advantage of a stunning blush dress from our client closet! Their wedding day colors were blush and navy, and it was nice to have their anniversary photos reflect that.
Photos at Lake Emerald, BC
Cailin trusted me and let me plan EVERYTHING for their photos at Lake Emerald! I knew Cailin and Kyle loved being near water, fishing, camping, and being outdoors so we knew right away we would work that into the shoot. We started at the natural bridge first and hit the lake near sunset for some extra romantic sunset photos on the water. Cailin and Kyle went along with all of my crazy ideas and truly got to just ENJOY each other.
Booking Anniversary Photos
Listen, I am of the opinion that EVERYONE needs to book anniversary photos (and ideally - every year!). Not only will you enjoy this photo session without the strict timeline and stress of a wedding day, but you deserve to celebrate and enjoy the love you have for one another. Cailin trusted the process with me and made the most of her shoot and you can see from the photos, the results are stunning.
We brought in a few of my favorite elopement and wedding vendors too. Sam from House of Beauty did her hair and makeup, and Chelsea from Adventure Floral created an absolutely stunning floral crown.
