Christmas Table Decor: Inspiration from Calgary Photographers

Christmas is officially in the air! At Fly Free Photography, we always love the rush of Christmas mini sessions, family photoshoots, and of course winter elopements for adventurous souls (realizing now how close we are to my own wedding anniversary!). As we start to prepare for 2021 Christmas Mini Sessions (find dates and book your family in here), we thought today we would share some Christmas table decor inspiration, for those of you looking forward to the holiday as much as we are! The first round of mini sessions was a huge success and we can't wait for the next ones.

Anyway, while we are in the Christmas spirit, we wanted to share a few stunning tablescape designs, which were part of a collaboration with Adventure Floral last year! We would also love to know - what does YOUR Christmas table look like this year? Send us a pic on IG! We love feeling inspired by everything that goes on in our little fly free family :)

Christmas Table Decor Idea #1: Rustic Table Decor!

Are you even from Alberta if you don't love a good rustic aesthetic? This one was made possible with just a bit of fresh greens in a vase, wood cookies to add some height and dimension, and a simple white napkin wrapped with greenery and cinnamon. It felt SOOOO Christmas-y and was one of my favorite designs of the set. Would it not be dreamy to sit around this table with a cup of hot chocolate with the fireplace going?!

Christmas Table Decor Idea #2: A Traditional Christmas Table

As elopement photographers, it's safe to say we don't always value tradition around here. We like to do things our own way (and have fun doing it!). But if there is ever a time of year to embrace a little tradition, Christmas would definitely be it. I am absolutely obsessed with the Christmas china that Adventure Floral sourced for this shoot. The "traditional Christmas table" was made complete with some stunning gold cutlery, faux greenery with cranberries to complement the china, and some stunning brass candlesticks.

Christmas Table Decor Idea #3: The elevated boho farmhouse table

By now I guess I should just admit that all three were my favorite? Because I absolutely loved this elevated boho farmhouse style table too. We used stunning gold cutlery, the same faux green garland (this time with pinecones and fresh eucalyptus accents), and unique fabric placemats. The wine glasses added such an elevated touch as well!

Calgary Christmas Mini Sessions in 2021

Do these pics make you want to go caroling? Eat a turkey (or some pumpkin pie)? Sip rum and eggnog by the fire? All of the above?

Us too.

Seriously the last two years have been filled with ups and downs for everyone but I can't help but take time this year to be so grateful. We work with incredible people, and this little business of ours gets better every year (if you are new around here, Fly Free Photography is made up of a husband and wife team and we love to celebrate love over here!). You can learn more about our services here, but more importantly, we would love to see you in some of our 2021 Christmas Mini Sessions right here in Calgary! Let's be honest, when is the last time you really sat down with your family to take photos? If you can't remember, a quick Christmas session is a good place to start! We would love to see you there!
