I love when we get to take engagement photos for couples who combine the photo session with another activity. I also love if engagement photos incorporate some element of the couple's personality. Jen and Jordan's outdoor engagement photos combined both of those things. Jen and Jordan both love to skate (she is a figure skater and he loves to play hockey) so it felt natural to combine their love of skating with their love of each other in their engagement photos. I absolutely LOVE how the photos of her ring on the skates turned out - they are some of my favourites.
If I could give you one piece of advice as a Calgary elopement photographer, it would be to incorporate a piece of "you" into your photos. When planning your engagement photos, think of what you both like to do as a couple, instead of feeling forced into a session where you just stand outside posing. You are more creative than that! And even if you are not, you can always ask your photographer for ideas. You can contact us here if you are looking for a photographer in the Rocky Mountains.
Engagement Photo Location Ideas
Nothing makes me happier than when my couples trust me to be the expert. Jen and Jordan knew they wanted to incorporate skating - but where could we do it without having a million people in the background? Of course, I knew a place. We headed to K Country and I showed them one of my favourite places for Rocky Mountain elopements - a hidden lake.
Engagement Photography in the Rocky Mountains
In case you are new to us and our work, we are a husband and wife photo team based in Calgary (but are frequently in the beautiful Rocky Mountains for photo sessions and elopements). We would love to chat more about your engagement photos and wedding photography, but space is booking up quickly for 2021 and 2022. Make sure to contact us here or check out more of our work on the blog here!
