Breathtaking, personal, simple in the most elegant of ways, and absolutely filled with love. Amy & Jack’s Peyto Lake elopement near Banff National Park was all about keeping things simple and focused on their love - just the sort of thing that makes you tear up! Being from the United Kingdom, Amy & Jack leaned into my experience and advice, letting us take the lead on planning, and location scouting, all the while they could focus on each other and their incredible future - together.

Planning A Canadian Elopement - The Back Story

Amy & Jack go back to when they were just 21 years old - they met at a nightclub and have spoken daily since. These two have taken adventurous trips together and even uprooted in a few big moves - strengthening their bond. From rainy hikes in the Scottish Highlands to the Fjords of Norway or board games in a caravan and trashy TV, Amy & Jack enjoy all of life’s moments together. Jack’s proposal brought Amy right back to the spot where they first met and planning an elopement felt like the natural next step. These two truly cherish one another and there strong bond that ties them.

How to plan a Banff Elopement from the UK

Amy & Jack came into this knowing they wanted something small, intimate, wildly personal, and filled with nature. Their adoration for each other and joy found in simply being together encouraged the couple to seek out an intimate elopement wedding. After scrolling on Pinterest, Amy came upon Fly Free Photography and the match could not have been a better fit. Planning a wedding in Canada from the UK could have been a challenge but with my leadership, knowledge, and extensive experience in the area, this wedding was planned without so much as a hiccup. My All-Inclusive Elopement Package was the perfect fit for this occasion - meaning everything from the florals to officiant was included (and vetted) - making planning this wedding a breeze. Amy’s trust in my advice made bringing their dream elopement in the Canadian Rockies to life simple.

Nature, a slow morning hot cocoa together, and some photos - for people who don’t like having their photos taken - was the recipe for Amy & Jack’s big day. I relished in the simplicity of this elopement that led to absolutely breathtaking images only second to the palpable love this couple exudes. A sunrise, mountain-top ceremony at Peyto Lake, complete with lake and mountain backdrop, captured the Canadian-feel that Amy fell in love with years ago. The intimate ceremony was followed up with hot cocoa and delicious pastries while the newlyweds basked in the glow of marriage and a Rocky Mountain sunrise.

Peyto Lake Elopement - The Afterglow

Being that this was a traditional elopement, Amy & Jack chose to use their sneak-peek gallery as a way to announce their marriage to family and loved ones. Amy’s feedback speaks for itself, and to be honest, brings tears to my eyes every time I read it. Here is what Amy had to say:

“A lot of people say planning their wedding is a very stressful experience, we can't relate because Krystal planned everything making our experience completely stress free and a total dream!
We always knew we wanted to elope rather than have a big wedding and fell in love with Banff when planning a holiday there so decided that would be the place for us. We found Krystal on Pinterest and as soon as we contacted her we felt her energy and love for photography and elopements. She understood what we wanted and gave us amazing advice about the areas to go to and provided really helpful timelines and tips for our day. It should have been more complicated organising a wedding in Canada from the UK but it was so simple with Krystal taking the lead.
Our wedding day was the best day and exactly what we wanted. Neither my husband or I like our photos being taken but she made it so easy and we never felt uncomfortable at all. We were able to relax and enjoy just getting married in the most incredible place.
The sneak peek gallery was an amazing collection of photos that we used to announce our elopement to friends and family and we loved that they were an assortment of different images and amazed that we received them so quickly.
Now we have the full gallery we are so impressed. She has captured the day and the scenery so well - the photos are more than wedding photos they are incredible pieces of artwork that we happen to be in.
If anyone is thinking of eloping in Banff - do it and work with Fly Free Photography, you won't regret it.”
