I can't stop gushing over Ashleigh and Russell's dreamy Rocky Mountain engagement photos. Seriously - it was hard to narrow down the photos I included in this post! I wanted to feature them all. As a Rocky Mountain elopement photographer, I never play favourites (after all - I have the absolute honour of photographing SO MANY incredible sessions), but this is definitely one of the tops for me!
When we first connected and I asked them what they like to do, they said that they just love spending time together. Literally. Whether it be taking a drive to the mountains, going hiking, making dinner, taking the truck to the car wash - anything! I love it. We love to celebrate love anymore (we really don't care about a big fancy weddings - that's why we are elopement photographers). What to Wear to your Rocky Mountain Engagement Photos
Ashleigh and Russell set a new standard! Customized jean jackets are a hot trend this year, and honestly, I only see them getting even more popular. I absolutely adore that they included their wedding date on the collar - what an incredible keepsake for after the wedding. With Alberta's unpredictable weather sometimes, it's easy to justify a cute jean jacket for your engagement photos and your Rocky Mountain wedding!
Choosing a Location for your Rocky Mountain Engagement Photos
We decided to head straight back to the Rocky Mountains - the same place they got engaged! On a beautiful December day, Russell and Ashleigh went skating at Two Jack Lake. The proposal was kind of spontaneous - Russell initially planned on asking her to marry him in the New Year. Once he got the ring, he couldn't wait. They went for a walk along the lake and Russ dropped to one knee and told her how much he loved their life together. What a MAGICAL proposal story.
Great wedding photos start with a great engagement photo session. Some of our couples aren't sure if they really want an engagement session, but I promise that it's worth it. You get to try out those dreamy couple poses you've found on Pinterest, get all the awkward jitters out of the way, practice in front of the camera. There is no do-over on a wedding day. As an experienced husband-and-wife Rocky Mountain elopement photography team, we love to start out journey with you from the moment you get engaged.
