Ashley and Ben had a most lovely, cozy wedding in Kananaskis, at the very beginning of this year. It was full of warmth and love, and we had the most amazing time with this sweet, adventurous couple. They ended up rescheduling their beach wedding to be in the Rocky Mountains in Alberta, honestly, who can say no to an awesome mountain wedding. The couple opted for my all inclusive package: photography, videography, florals, cake, hair and makeup - the whole shebang! I was absolutely elated, and grateful for the trust Ashley and Ben took with the Fly Free team in capturing their wedding in its entirety. The Intimate Airbnb wedding ceremony photos
Ashley and Ben ended up renting a private Airbnb for their wedding, not only were we able to do ‘getting ready’ photos there but it doubled back as an indoor ceremony location as well. The ceremony consisted of just their families, it was super intimate and beautiful. As you will see from the photos, the ceremony was done inside, by a cozy fireplace, because it was absolutely freezing outside. After the ceremony they had delicious hot chocolate with their family at the bar. It was the most fitting beverage for the occasion, appreciated by all.
Couple photos in the snow
After warming up at the chocolate bar we went to take some photos in Kananaskis - they’re troopers because it was really cold outside. I mean, that's the chance that you take getting married in the mountains in January, but it was still beautiful. Ashley’s dress was absolutely stunning, the beautiful lace was simply magical in the snow and made the photos stunning. As a wedding photographer it is super important to me that all of our couples have the special moments to look back on that reflect them as a couple. Ashley and Ben love hiking and spending quality time together, so much so that Ben proposed to Ashley at Kalamalka Lake in Vernon B.C, while they were hiking near the lake. He popped the question at the top of the mountain and I can imagine it was absolutely swoon-worthy!
Stunning wedding photography
As a faith based elopement photographer I love when I can relate with our couples and bring aspects that are important to them, like God into their wedding day. Having a wedding or elopement that is unique to our couple is the most important thing to me and even though Ashley and Ben moved out to the beautiful Okanagan together after their wedding, I'm crossing my fingers we'll be doing some warmer photos together sometime soon! wink wink Who doesn't love an awesome adventure session!
