Summer Wedding at The Gathered

Do you love family run venues? A place that feels like home? Reilly and Nico got married out at The Gathered in Kathryn, Alberta. This venue is super cute, and homey! It's run by a family and everything they make is pretty much farmed to the table. I love this venue and the people who own it. The mom is the chef and the officiant, how awesome is that?! It's a real family team effort out there, which you can feel in everything they provide.

Reilly and Nico are such an adorable fun couple! We had a blast getting to be a part of their wedding day. Reilly looked stunning in her timeless wedding gown; absolutely gorgeous! I loved the blush pink dresses she chose for her bridesmaids, the colors were perfect for the season. Nico's navy blue tux was ah-mazing! He looked so sharp, as did his groomsmen! Everyone was sharp dressed and overflowing with joy for this special day.

Ceremony Traditions

Reilly and Nico's ceremony was SO beautiful! I just love the set up at The Gathered! The beautiful field, the wedding arch, the prairie scene...it was perfect! I got to experience a really cool Filipino tradition for the first time called Las Arras, where they wrapped coins and a veil around the bride and groom. Traditionally, the thirteen coins used in this tradition represents the groom's promise to provide for this family and the bride's trust in the groom's promise for provision. The groom provides the family economy and the bride will protect and take care of it. In modern day, some couples make the meaning of the tradition personal to them and it can represent their equal commitment to providing. I loved being able to learn about and get some beautiful photos of this family tradition! Nico's dad had arranged all of the flowers and let me tell yah, they looked amazing! He did such a good job! They also had flower boys, who were part of their wedding party. The gentlemen had little fanny packs and a choregraphed dance as they walked down and spread their flowers everywhere! Not to mention their dance moves were on point, which you can witness more of in their full highlight video here.

First Dance Ideas

Reilly and Nico had a beautiful, beautiful choregraphed first dance. Funny enough, Reilly and Nico decided to have a choreographed danced and then a few weeks later her dad asked if him and Reilly could have a choregraphed dance for their Father and Daughter dance. Reilly thought that idea was so fun and she was like, 'Yup absolutely!' Both dances went from slow, intimate and beautiful to upbeat, and fun hip hop! It was a surprise to everyone and then at the end everyone joined in on the dance floor! You can see how much this family loves to dance and just have the best time together! They know how to celebrate and their not afraid to show it! Everyone was so happy for Reilly and Nico becoming husband and wife.

Champagne Toast

I truly do love when couples want to do an epic champagne toast, whether that be just the two of them, or with their wedding party. Regardless, this toast was one for the books and that I will never forget! The best part was that no one had any idea it was coming... (including me) haha Reilly and Nico popped their champagne as per usual and at the last moment, Reilly turned and sprayed the wedding party, yelling "YOLO" !! (Witness photos below) haha It was amazing and a memory forever engraved now haha

Sunset Photos

During the day we took some photos around the property, like you seen and then snuck out for some sunset photos by a canola field on a dirt road. The photos are SO STUNNING! The sunset was the most beautiful; God is SO good! I'm so happy with the way the photos turned out and I know they are too! It was a perfect way to end a super fun day! Reilly and Nico are such a beautiful couple and I am so happy for them and wish them all the best as they continue their love story.
